Is Chevening fully funded?
Yes. Chevening pays your tuition fees, a monthly living allowance, your return flight and your visa for a one year Master's degree at a UK university.
What Chevening covers
The official Chevening page lists four things: tuition fees, a monthly stipend, a return flight to the UK and your visa. The monthly allowance is higher if you study in London.
The page we checked does not show the exact monthly amount, so we do not quote one. Check the official page for the figure that applies to your year.
The condition that comes with it
You must return to your home country for at least 2 years after the award ends. If you do not, you must pay back the money you received. Read this rule before you apply.
You also need work experience and a one year Master's course at a UK university. There is no age limit.
Another fully funded option in the UK
If you are from a Commonwealth country, the Commonwealth Master's Scholarships also pay tuition fees, a monthly stipend and a return flight. You apply through a national nominating agency, not directly.
